Welcome to The Trusty Books. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By signing up or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services Overview
The Trusty Books provides bookkeeping services, tax preparation support, client portal access, and expert consultation on a subscription basis according to your selected plan.
2. Eligibility
To use our services, you must be at least 18 years old, operate a business in the United States, provide accurate information, and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.
3. Account Registration
You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your login credentials secure, and notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscription and Payment
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. All fees are non-refundable. You may change your plan at any time, with changes taking effect at the next billing cycle. Services may be suspended for late payments.
5. Your Obligations
As a client, you agree to provide timely and accurate documentation and respond promptly to our requests for clarification. You agree not to use our services for illegal or fraudulent activities.
6. Our Responsibilities
We will deliver services according to your plan’s scope, maintain professional standards, and keep your data secure. We are not liable for errors caused by incomplete information you provide or for third-party service outages.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for services in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. We do not provide tax or legal advice.
8. Service Standards and Disclaimers
We provide professional bookkeeping following U.S. GAAP. We do not provide legal or tax advisory services, audit services, or guarantees of specific tax outcomes. Our services are provided “as is”.
9. Intellectual Property
The Trusty Books name, logo, and website are our intellectual property. You retain ownership of your financial data; we have a license to use it solely to deliver your services.
10. Termination
You may cancel at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of your current billing period. We may terminate your service if you violate these Terms or fail to pay. Upon termination, you will lose portal access, and we will provide a final export of your data.
11. Confidentiality
We will keep your business and financial information confidential. You agree to keep any proprietary information about our processes confidential.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Applicable Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of [Delaware/California], United States.
Dispute Resolution:
- Step 1: Good faith negotiation (30 days)
